On Saturday 17th December 2016 twenty nine young people came together from across Lifeworks services to enjoy a magical day out at the Eden Project, Cornwall.
Together they explored the biodomes; played with the mechanicals, had some first time experiences including a weee man, some very playful elves and an encounter with Father Christmas. In the afternoon they took to the ice rink ably supported by fantastic young volunteers – thank you everyone who helped make this day happen; the staff and elves at the Eden Project for their fantastic support on the day plus the discounted rates; Daytrippers Charity who paid for all the young people’s activities and Lifeworks’ amazing staff and volunteers who gave their time on the last Saturday before Christmas to help make this happen:
“Our son Charley has severe learning disability and autism.
Thanks to you and your amazing team he had a great day and we were also very reassured with all the excellent planning that he would be really well looked after with people who understand his disability.
We were delighted to be told that he even gave ice skating a go.
Thank you for giving his Christmas a great start and hope you all have a very Happy New Year”
“I love new experiences and this was a totally new experience!!”
“Finn absolutely loved it! He was so excited about seeing Father Christmas and the ice skating with penguins! He wanted to go ice skating again, which he did on the Tuesday following 🙂 Thank you so much – I was actually working nights at Sainsbury’s so I had an uninterrupted sleep and Mike dropped him off and picked him up! 🙂 Gave Mike a break from caring for Finn single-handedly!”
