The Lifeworks Specialist College of Further Education is a bridge between school and adult life. We are a welcoming and lively specialist college open to young people aged 16 to 25 years with a range of learning disabilities.
Our courses support equality of opportunity by building on the foundations of learning that students acquired whilst at school. We recognise that our young people have a diverse range of needs, abilities and goals. With this in mind we offer a flexible curriculum tailored to each individual’s needs that can lead to nationally accredited qualifications.
As we approached the new year, we were in desperate need of a second mini bus at the college.
The college is growing quickly- and our student numbers had just doubled with the beginning of the new academic term. This new vehicle was a real necessity in order for our students to be able to enjoy full group trips as well as tailoring outings for different groups as they work with the local community and their work placements- and enabling them to engage fully in every opportunity the college has to offer.
We were therefore delighted to receive a grant from the Morrisons Foundation that allowed us to purchase the new mini-bus that has made such a difference to our students already.
Here is a video starring the students- to explain why they needed this bus, and to say thank you to the Morrison’s Foundation for their generous support.
