THE LONDON SURF FESTIVAL

with company sponsored surf board paddle relay races on the Thames in support of Breaking the Barrier took place on

SATURDAY JULY 16 2011.

Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us and the paddle challenges did not happen due to the state of the Thames. The surf festival was open to everyone with an interest in surfing and although the rain stopped the crowds, we had quite a following turning up during the day. BREAKING THE BARRIER, BIGBURY

(South Devon) was held on

SUNDAY JUNE 26 2011.

and a fantastic day it was too! The sun actually came out for us and made us think we were in the bahamas! A massive thanks to all our volunteers who gave their time freely with a smile. The Totnes Rotary excelled themselves this year at the barbie and the Lloyds bank team really helped make the beach activities run smoothly and efficiently. Thanks also to Bucy McDonald and Jeremy Neech who came down from London and filmed the event on land in in water for us. Their expertise will be displayed soon.
And did i mention the surf? Just right. Thanks to Martyn and his instructors from Discovery Surf for giving an in water experience that we all enjoyed immensely.
